ReadyTech selected as the Student Management System platform for the Victorian TAFE Network
29 June 2026 – In a major move to scale vocational education in Victoria, ReadyTech has been selected to deliver a common student management system (SMS) across the Victorian TAFE Network, supporting a major digital transformation of one of Australia’s largest vocational education providers.
The announcement follows the state budget’s $459.4 million investment in skills, free TAFE and workforce capability to support a world-class training system and growing demand for vocational education across Victoria.
With the potential to support more than 170,000 TAFE students across Victoria’s 11 TAFE institutes, the initiative will modernise enrolments, curriculum delivery and the end-to-end student journey through a unified platform that improves access, experience and operational efficiency.
Rising demand for lifelong learning and reskilling is increasing pressure on TAFEs to deliver more flexible and scalable education services. In Victoria, existing systems were not designed to support this shift, creating the need for a modern, unified platform.
This milestone follows a multi-year, co-designed partnership with Bendigo Kangan Institute, Chisholm Institute and Melbourne PolyTechnic, where ReadyTech worked with educators and administrators to develop a solution that helps institutions respond faster to evolving policy, workforce and learner expectations.
Marc Washbourne, CEO and Co-Founder of ReadyTech said the milestone reflected years of investment and collaboration in building an enterprise-grade platform for education.
“What began as a co-designed partnership with Bendigo Kangan Institute has evolved into a system-wide solution now trusted to power the future of the Victorian TAFE network. We are proud to be trusted as a long-term technology partner leading digital transformation in the next era of vocational training in Victoria” Mr Washbourne said.
“I commend the Victoria Government for its vision and leadership in advancing digital transformation for the Victorian TAFE Network. Vocational education is critical to Victoria’s economy and workforce capability, and delivering transformation at this scale requires strong coordination and a shared vision.”
ReadyTech’s platform is designed to support a more flexible, scalable and workforce-aligned model of vocational education delivery, including the growing convergence between vocational and higher education across the TAFE sector.
Across the country, governments are increasingly recognising the critical role skills and vocational training play in building workforce capability. This is reflected in the five-year National Skills Agreement, which commenced in January 2024 and provides states and territories with greater access to additional Commonwealth funding.
Under Victoria’s National Skills Agreement, the Commonwealth will provide up to $3.15 billion to expand the state’s VET sector, along with an additional $105 million to create more Free TAFE places, representing one of the largest investments ever made in the TAFE sector.
